Dr. Eva Denka DVM

“Eva is passionate about the power of preventative medicine, emphasizing healthy lifestyle choices for her patients. She likes to ensure that families are empowered in decision making for their beloved pets by working together to discuss therapy options and develop attainable treatment plans for each individual. She is especially passionate about geriatric care and ensuring that her patients are comfortable, maintaining a good quality of life for as long as possible.

Eva moved to the Bellingham area to be closer to the mountains she loves to recreate in. When she is not hard at work, Eva teaches fitness classes and enjoys practicing yoga. She thrives on nature and travel, and loves to hike and camp with her dogs, Porter and Street Rat, and her cats (yes, cats), Fuzz and Church.”

Dr. Maria Baker DVM

“Originally from California, Dr. Baker moved to Seattle in 1996 and earned her DVM from Washington State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. In 2019 she and her family made beautiful Bellingham their home.

Her areas of interest include internal medicine, dermatology, geriatrics, dentistry and preventative care. Her goal is to work with you as a partner to keep your furry family members happy and healthy and to honor the human-animal bond.

When out of the office, Dr. Baker enjoys hiking, sea kayaking, and cycling with her significant other, Andrew. Two pets complete their family: Bernie, a sassy 9-year-old tabby kitty who joined the family last year, and Hank, an 8-year-old border collie mix – as sweet as can be but a little mischievous!”

Dr. Aaron Lothrop DVM

“Aaron is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is a 2016 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, he practiced in Vermont, on the Olympic Peninsula, and finally landing in the Bellingham area. He loves the trifecta of ocean, rivers, and mountains. Professionally, he enjoys soft tissue surgery, preventative medicine, ophthalmology, and digging deep into odd cases. His goal is to provide clear and transparent communication regarding individualized treatment plan options for you and your pet, all with a sense of compassion and gentleness. When not at work, you can usually find him fishing or on a bike. The squad consists of three dogs (Belle, Walter, and Clementine), and Mac the cat”

I am so thankful for the care and attention that Dr. Denka and the team at Cypress Veterinary Hospital gave to my beloved pup, Brittany. I went to Cypress seeking a second opinion on her symptoms because my original vet did not seem to be very knowledgeable about the changes I was observing. Dr. Denka took my concerns very seriously. She provided me with potential diagnoses, treatment options, consulted with a specialist and provided suggestions for second opinions with a neurologist. She checked in via email, which I greatly appreciated. It was determined that my dog had a degenerative condition and due to her rapid decline, I chose not to pursue additional tests/treatments. The response from Cypress since her passing was very kind and caring. I am very grateful for the compassion of Dr. Denka. It was the best experience I have had with a veterinary office. If you’re in need of high quality, caring vet care for your fur baby, Cypress is an excellent choice.

I couldn’t ask for a better veterinarian office. The entire team is incredibly kind and genuinely cares about our pets like they’re their own. They always take the time to explain things clearly and follow up after visits to make sure everything is going well. The office is extremely clean, efficient, friendly, and extremely well-organized—everything runs so smoothly.
